Every time I come here, I start with a Mangwon croquette: crispy outside, soft inside and generously filled. Next, I have a Mangwon grilled beef patty, charcoal-grilled on site, with plenty of meat juices and a smoky aroma. The market's spicy stir-fried short rice cakes are chewy, with a rich sauce that offers more than just heat.
For a different pairing, try Wooirak's fried peppers with apple makgeolli. The peppers are crispy outside and fragrant inside, while the sweet apple makgeolli balances their richness. For dessert, I would choose a sunflower seed sugar cake or freshly baked walnut cake, then finish with a warm cup of pumpkin sweet rice drink.
