Highlights
The Korean houses, pottery urns and everyday utensils in Wolmi Park Traditional Garden create an old-fashioned atmosphere for a walk and a chance to learn about traditional culture. Then take the ferry from Wolmi Island to Yeongjong Island and enjoy the sea views and circling seagulls from the deck for a relaxed half-day outing.
Ms Karyl's firsthand tips
For a leisurely outing around Wolmi Island, I recommend visiting the park's traditional courtyard first, then taking the ferry for some time by the sea. Take your time looking at the Korean houses, pottery urns and traditional games. On the ferry deck, you can watch seagulls flying alongside the boat.
If you enjoy traditional culture, activities with children or seaside scenery, you can visit the park and take the ferry in the same half day. Start with the traditional garden, then head to the pier in time for your confirmed ferry departure. If you plan to return to Wolmi Island, arrange your return time as well.
We tried the hanbok experience and traditional games on our visit, but the activities and opening arrangements may change. Ferry routes, departure times and availability depend on weather and operations, so confirm them before departure. When taking photos on deck, keep your footing and look after your children. Follow the ferry's rules on feeding seagulls and permitted food.
